100 Healthy Days™ Week 12- Financing Your Ideal 100 Year Lifestyle

March 23, 2021 by admin

Taking responsibility for your health and lifestyle choices is vital to you and your family’s well-being. We love seeing our patients and practice members getting younger and healthier every year as they commit themselves to Chiropractic Lifestyle Care and healthier lifestyle choices. Learn to love the things that are good for you and make them a priority.

Get Excited About the Financial Opportunity of Your 100 Year Lifestyle

Look around and begin to take notice of the resources and experiences you have accumulated and how you can capitalize on them now to create capital for your future.

The Personal Affirmation Creator we refer to is a great exercise to elevate your personal consciousness, find yourself, reinvent yourself and declare your next big thing.

Are you ready to attract more of what you want in your life, work, relationships, and finances? Are you ready to eliminate the struggles?

This is a great exercise in self-awareness and connecting with your personal truths, values, and talents, and deciding how you will choose to be from this day forward.

Listen to our 100YL Podcast, Episode 18, The Personal Affirmation Creator. The Personal Affirmation Creator is a great exercise to elevate your personal consciousness, find yourself, reinvent yourself and declare your next big thing.

You will want to listen to this one a couple of times as there are different stages in this exercise. If you know that you are capable of more, the Personal Affirmation Creator will help you make it happen and bring the best version of yourself to light.

Start Investing in Yourself

Stop wasting money now. If you have not yet implemented these basics, do not procrastinate another second. The more you invest in yourself, the more freedom and choices you will have.

At some stage in your life, you really want to be able to wake up and say, “I want to,” rather than, “I have to”—the creativity that comes out of that is exciting.

But here is the idea that I really want to get across: It is never too late to start! If you begin thinking this way now, you will attract more abundance right away, regardless of your current age.

Fill in your 100 Year Balance Sheet Based On How It Looks Today

Decide how you want it to look in ten years, and list the five immediate action steps that you know you need to take to reach your goals.

Your balance sheet represents a snapshot of your financial position and the income streams you will have for the future. What do you want yours to look like during the different stages of life as you age?

They are not a substitute for your financial planner, accountant, or bookkeeper. In fact, they will make your meetings with your financial team more productive as you gain clarity and commit to the changes necessary to reach your goals. Read more on our article, Your 100 Year Balance Sheet.

Meet with Your Financial Adviser, Accountant, Estate Planner, and Insurance Agent

Review your financial plan and income opportunities, then make the appropriate changes that will help you secure and finance your 100 Year Lifestyle.

Prioritize Your Own Self-Care and Health Care and Invest in Them

Having the money is not nearly as much fun if you don’t have the health to enjoy it. Your minutes are your currency.

They belong to you, and how you spend them will determine the quality of your life going forward. Every minute you spend represents a choice—whether you made it with full awareness or not.

Take charge of your minutes. Read more on our article, Time as Currency.

Check Your Credit Score and Credit Report

Take the appropriate action steps to clean up any errors. Also, if you have credit card debt at an interest rate that was determined years ago or obtained when you may have had a lower credit score than you do now, you may be able to lower that interest rate.

Just call up the credit card company and let them know that you are looking to lower your interest rate. Read more about credit tips in our article, Credit Tips to Increase Cash Flow.

Be a Giver

Think about the purpose you would like to give your money so that a portion of your finances makes a difference in the world. Take an action step and make your next contribution today.

100 Healthy Days™ Week 4- Review Crisis VS Quality of Life Motivation

February 5, 2021 by admin

Choose Quality of Life Motivation over Crisis Motivation and make the Critical Transition from Crisis Care to Lifestyle Chiropractic Care. You’ll get off the roller coaster of symptoms and function at a higher level for a lifetime!

Put the Three Life-Changing Principles to Work for You

Life-Changing Principle #1: The Magnet Principle- Change is easy; thinking about change is hard.

Life-Changing #2: The Persistence Principle: Get back on track with your target. Change comes one choice at a time. Think progress, not perfection.

Life-Changing #3: The Compelling Principle- Reconnect with your vision. If you’re going to make a change, make it with your long-term vision in mind.

Read more on our article, The Three Life-Changing Principles.

Choose Quality-of-Life Motivation—Not Crisis Motivation

Allowing crisis to motivate you to change keeps you in your old patterns and issues. Choose quality of life motivation over the crisis approach to change. That way, you will avoid many painful, unnecessary detours along the way.

To make changes that last, you will need to decide what your primary motivation is conscious. Will you be crisis motivated or quality of life motivated?

Read more about choosing lasting changes on our 100YL article, Motivation for Lasting Change.

Understand The 5 Dominant Energy Patterns:

  • 1) Destructive Pattern
  • 2) Survival Pattern
  • 3) Complacency Pattern
  • 4) Comfort Pattern
  • 5) Human Potential Pattern

Nurture your human potential pattern. Decide which dominant energy pattern you are in and begin to identify your personal human potential pattern. Begin making choices following the Three Life-Changing Principles that support your ideal 100 Year Lifestyle where you are living at your best every day.

Enhance Your Energy Through Positive Thoughts and Actions

Choose thoughts, actions, and feelings and reinforce them throughout the day with personal affirmations. Check out our 100YL podcast, “Youthful Energy at any Age.”

This episode on Innate Energy will have you feeling younger at the end of the day than you did at the beginning of the day, even though you are one day older.

Stay consistent with what you hear, and the same will be true for the month, year, and a decade or longer.

Listen to Podcast Episode 7- Youthful Energy At Every Age

Change Is Easy. Thinking about Change Is Hard

Change happens one choice at a time. Think progress, not perfection. Approach change with your ideal 100 Year Lifestyle in mind.

Check out our 100YL Podcast, DOMINO EFFECT TO A BETTER LIFE. Listen to how you too can find vision, direction, and real-world answers for your life’s work, health, weight, and energy while also seeing exciting hope and changes in your children’s well-being like 100YL member Erica Salazar did. Life Takes Nerve

May 20, 2019 by admin

Everything in your life that you consciously do, or your body does for you unconsciously, requires nerve supply. Everything!

Your body uses nerve supply to send communication signals back and forth between the brain, cells, tissues, organs and muscles.

Cells and Tissues

Healthy cellular function requires healthy nerve supply. Unhealthy nerve supply can cause your cells to function less than optimally effecting your health immediately and over time.

  • In bone marrow stem cells, which are responsible for repopulating an individuals red blood cells, the lack of sympathetic nerve supply changes expression of protein markers for the cell and a decrease in certain types of stem cells. (Dubovy)
  • The lack of innervation through the parasympathetic nervous system can change expression of immune of function cells, which in some animal studies has been shown to promote cancer growth. (Partek)
  • Neurons can even self-regulate their own blood supply. For example, vision associated neurons in the eye have been shown to regulate proteins associated with increase in local blood vessel development, thus these neurons can self-regulate the amount of blood supply needed for optimal function. (Usui)

 Organs

Healthy organ function also requires healthy nerve supply. When nerve supply is interfered with or less than optimal, organ function can be altered. Many organ related health problems have a nerve component that is often ignored. Correcting the nerve component can improve recovery time, elilminate symptoms naturally and help the body to self correct.

  • Livers that have been transplanted and no longer reflect normal nervous system integration demonstrate altered ability to adapt and respond to the body’s needs with respect to insulin and glucose. (Perseghin)
  • Heart rate variability has been shown to change following a chiropractic adjustment- this is suggestive of changes in the parasympathetic nervous system. (Roy 2009)
  • In the Bolton’s article, it is revealed that an adjustment to the nervous system also creates changes in the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, gastrointestinal system, immune system, reproductive system, and autonomic functions.

Muscles and Bones

Healthy muscle function requires healthy nerve supply. This includes energy, replication, and adaptation. Many fitness enthusiasts plateau, have recurring injuries or minimize their potential by ignoring the neurological component of muscle function. Muscles are attached to bones and controlled by nerves. Proper spinal alignment and healthy nerve supply should be a priority for exercisers who want to enjoy their activities for a lifetime.

  • Lack of nerve supply increases expression of proteins associated with muscle atrophy (Asami, Gomes)
  • When a joint is fixated and not moving, it has been shown in animal studies to lead to changes in the shape and numbers of synapses located in the sensory portions of the spinal column. (Bakkum)
  • Also, when a vertebra is moved out of its normal position, stretching or contracting the small sensory muscle fibers that tell the body where it is in space, the firing patterns are altered and do not fully return to normal when the bone is restored to its proper position. A thrust, similar to a chiropractic adjustment, can bring the firing pattern back to towards normal. Altered firing patterns may lead to the brain not fully aware of where it is in space. (Pickar 2002, Ge 2005, Pickar 2014) Animal Study
  • Further in individuals with a history of neck pain, but no pain at the time of testing, have been shown to have different brain and cerebellum response patterns, and following a chiropractic adjustment, those response patterns become closer to individuals without a history of neck pain. These changes have also been noted as originating from the prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain associated with higher level planning and thought. (Daligadu,Baarbe, Lelic) Human Study

Mastering Personal Change

November 20, 2018 by admin

Are there things in your life that you know you need to change? Is it your health, your priorities, your habits or the dynamics of your relationships?

How long have you known that you needed to make these changes? Has it been a day, a month, a decade or longer?

Here’s an important thought to consider: everything will stay the same until you make the changes you know you need to make.

There are two motivating factors that cause people to change: crisis or quality of life. Which will you choose? Too many people suffer at tolerable levels until a crisis forces them to take action. Don’t wait for your suffering to become so severe that it forces you to change.

Use this article to be the final push that gets you to commit to the change you know you need to make. If you want to master personal change, choose Quality of Life Motivation over Crisis Motivation.

These three Life-Changing Principles of The 100 Year Lifestyle will keep you on track…

1. Life-Changing Principle #1: Changes is easy. Thinking about change is hard.

2. Life-Changing Principle #2: Change comes one choice at a time. Think progress not perfection.

3. Life-Changing Principle #3: If you’re going to make a change, make it with your ideal 100 Year Lifestyle in mind.

If you feel like you have been on a roller coaster ride, stop living from crisis to crisis. There is no better time than the present to make the changes you know you need to make. You will eliminate unnecessary suffering and enjoy the quality of your life that comes with these changes for decades beyond today.

When you commit to mastering personal change, you are much more likely to attract good health, vitality and all your other goals like a magnet.

We are proud to be a part of your journey to help you and your loved ones make the critical transition to Chiropractic Lifestyle Care and optimize your health for a lifetime.

Childrens Longevity Threatened

November 15, 2018 by admin

Are your children’s health and longevity threatened by your lifestyle choices? The answer is yes!

Think about how long will your children live and what will their quality of life be like along the way? According to the Lancet, 50 percentsign of the babies born since the year 2000 are expected to live over the age of 100. Additional research is concerned that our current generation of children may be the first in recent history to see their life expectancy go down.

How can this be? Doesn’t it seem like a contradiction to see so many children living longer while their overall life expectancy goes down?  The answer is sad yet simple in that the other 50percentsign of children are expected to die younger and sicker than ever, not because of their genetics, but because of unhealthy lifestyle choices.

Even Children Are Concerned

If your children have aging grandparents, they are staring at their potential longevity during every family gathering and this can be unconsciously weighing on their spirit. Nico Santi, a 10 year old boy from Bellevue, Washington who is blessed with a proactive, health conscious family, sent me this video after attending an event in their community. Sponsored by Cummins Chiropractic and Wellness, Dr. Bob Cummins and his wife Anna have been providing Chiropractic Lifestyle Care for the family who are more excited about their health and future than ever.

It is not rocket science to understand the connection between lifestyle choices, quality of life and longevity. A healthy life requires a lifestyle that includes healthy food, exercise, strong social circles and a healthy spine and nervous system as well as avoiding destructive habits such as the overuse of technology, smartphones, smoking and excessive stress. On the other hand, a 50 to 60 year lifestyle includes unhealthy eating with excessive sugar, calories, sitting, lack of exercise and an unhealthy spine and nervous system.

Are you raising your children to live a 60 year lifestyle or a 100 Year Lifestyle? You will often hear people say as they get older, after they are diagnosed with diseases like heart disease, cancer and diabetes, that “these diseases run in my family”. While there is a genetic component to these conditions, it is actually a small component. These diseases are mostly lifestyle diseases. Based on the lifestyle in which your children are being raised, they are either inheriting the lifestyle habits that contribute to a 60 year lifestyle or they are inheriting the lifestyle habits that contribute to a healthy, active, positive, productive 100 years and beyond.

If you have not been healthy and you are ready for a change, it is not too late for you. Many people who have lived from crisis to crisis have become tired of this roller coaster ride. They are tired of pills and potions that cause side effects but don’t solve their problems. Because of the amazing ability of your body to adapt and heal, it is never too late to take care of your spine and nerve system and adjust your lifestyle.

Begin shopping in stores that sell organic food. Fill up your shopping cart with fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and whole grains. Avoid high fat foods like cookies, cakes and cereals that are high in sugar and avoid white flour and white rice.

Turn off the TV and the video games and get outside with your family for walks or bike rides. Go to the gym and to your chiropractor together.

In 1903, Thomas Edison said, “The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” Thomas Edison was right and 115 years is enough. The future is now and the future of our children is at stake.

So in 2010 I updated Edison’s quote to say, “The doctor of the PRESENT will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of DIS-EASE. Be present.” We should do what we can to stay healthy and consider using medicine and surgery only as last resorts.

As a parent, it takes being one of the Purposeful Willing to protect your children and ensure their well-being. You have to be purpoeful and you have to be willing. Do your part by making 100 Year Lifestyle choices so you and your children are healthier today and can enjoy a sensational century.
